Indonesia is one of Southeast Asia’s most diverse destinations, made up of more than 17,000 islands stretching across the equator. Every island has its own culture, traditions, landscapes, and local cuisine, making each journey feel different. From ancient temples and volcanoes to tropical beaches and vibrant cities, Indonesia offers experiences that can easily fill many return visits.
What I Enjoy About Travelling in Indonesia
My journey to Indonesia combined two very different experiences. Bali and Yogyakarta were holiday destinations, while Jakarta was visited during business trips when I was working with Siam City Cement & GE.
Jakarta gave me my first impression of Indonesia. The city was energetic, busy, and constantly moving. Heavy traffic filled the streets, with motorcycles weaving through the roads, reminding me of Bangkok but feeling even more crowded and tangled. Although I did not have much opportunity to explore beyond my business commitments, the visit gave me a better understanding of Indonesia’s economic importance and its role as one of Southeast Asia’s major business centres. There is still so much more to discover, and I look forward to returning to explore more of this fascinating archipelago.

- Mount Bromo – One of Indonesia’s most iconic volcanoes, renowned for its unforgettable sunrise views.
- Lombok – A quieter alternative to Bali with beautiful beaches, waterfalls, and the majestic Mount Rinjani.
