A Spiritual Journey
Explore India
India is a land of ancient civilizations, colourful traditions, magnificent architecture, and deep spiritual heritage. From the snow-capped Himalayas in the north to tropical beaches in the south, the country offers an incredible diversity of landscapes, cultures, and experiences. Every region has its own identity, making India one of the world’s most fascinating destinations to explore.
Stories about crowded cities, food hygiene, and cleanliness made me unsure about travelling there. My first visit was a short business trip to Delihi, where meetings filled my schedule and left little time to explore. It wasn’t until years later, after hearing about my sister’s positive pilgrimage experience, that I finally decided to join.

Why I Enjoy India
Many Thai Buddhists travel to India on pilgrimage to visit the sacred places connected to the life of the Buddha. Seeing so many people make this journey, some even as part of their annual spiritual practice, made me curious to experience it for myself. Walking through these sacred places brought back many of the stories I had learned in school but had only vaguely remembered over the years. The journey gave me a much deeper understanding of Buddhism, the life of the Buddha, and the history behind these sacred places.
I found that travelling in India is much easier when you are well prepared and travel with someone familiar with the country or join an organised tour. Once I set aside my initial concerns, I discovered a country rich in history, culture, and faith. Visiting the places where the Buddha attained enlightenment, delivered His first sermon, and entered Parinirvana became one of the most meaningful travel experiences I have had.
Although my journey has so far focused mainly on India’s Buddhist pilgrimage sites, I hope to return one day to discover more of its ancient cities, magnificent monuments, diverse landscapes, and vibrant local culture.
