Exploring Hue, Vietnam: Former Capital and Home of Nguyen Dynasty Emperors

Hue, a city in central Vietnam, was the seat of Nguyen Dynasty emperors and the national capital from 1802 to 1945. After a night in Hanoi, I flew to Hue to explore its rich history and stunning architecture. Major attractions include the 19th-century Đại Nội Citadel, surrounded by a moat and stone walls, housing the Imperial City, Forbidden Purple City (Tử cấm thành), and a replica of the Royal Theater.

Trip Highlights
I took a morning VietJet flight from Hanoi to Hue, lasting about an hour. During the day, visit must-see attractions like the Citadel and others within a short drive from the city center. At night, stroll along the Hue Walking Street by the Perfume River and immerse yourself in the charm of this historic city.
