On my long-awaited trip to Bali, the most popular island in Indonesia, I discovered an unforgettable experience. Despite the influx of tourists from all over the world, Bali has managed to preserve its rich traditional and cultural heritage. The island’s landscape is interconnected by a network of small two-lane roads, and you’ll find a variety of accommodations, ranging from luxurious to budget-friendly options.

During my trip, I explored Ubud, a popular destination offering a mix of luxury and simplicity, with a lively atmosphere that extends into the wee hours. For those seeking upscale beachfront hotels, Nusa Dua Beach is home to high-end resorts.
Bali is dotted with numerous Instagram-worthy landmarks, so planning a route is essential. I hired a car and driver to take me to various attractions, including Pura Tanah Lot, Tegallalang and Jatiluwih Rice Terraces, Pura Ulun Danu Bratan, Nusa Dua Beach, Pura Tirta Empul (Holy Water Temple), Tampaksiring, Gunung Kawi, Pura Ulun Danu Batur, Pura Tuluk Biyu Batur, and Ubud Market. Although there are many more temples on the island, be prepared to spend a lot of time traveling by car or consider renting a motorbike to explore.
